The Comedy Grab Bag
The Comedy Grab Bag is every Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm(subject to special events).  It is open to professionals,  up and comers, amateurs, and first timers.  While it
is open to all in the sense of comedic ability we still reserve the right to decline participation for any reason, the most common being bad attitude, not following rules,
negative referrals etc...

The first think you need to do is to get on our approved list.  There really aren't any qualifications to get on the approved list, it is just our way of having more control of
the list.  To get on our approved list all you need to do is
send us an e-mail  and in the subject line put "open mic list request".  In the body of the e-mail give us your
name, phone #, websites and any links to video if you have (it's not required that you do, but if you do it's nice to know) and then tell us a little bit about yourself.  Most of
the time we will add you to the list and notify you within 48 hours at the latest.  If you haven't heard back from us within that time feel free to e-mail us.

If you
ARE on our approved list go to www.bunjoscomedy.com/openmicsignup.html  You can bookmark this site for future sign ups.

Every Monday a new sign up sheet will be posted for the coming Sunday.

If the list is full you are always welcome to come to the open mic in case we have any last minute cancellations or no shows.

If you sign up for a spot and can't make it you must go back to the list and delete yourself.  Do not just send us an e-mail saying you need to cancel.

If you cancel within 24 hours of the open mic or are a no show we may remove you from our approved list.  We realize that sometimes emergencies come up and we are
willing to be flexible, but just remember when you cancel with little notice you are possibly preventing someone else from performing.
HOW TO SIGN UP FOR OUR OPEN MIC
OPEN MIC RULES
While this is not necessarily a clean room we do ask that you use common sense when it comes to content of your material.  An "F" bomb or dick joke here or there is
okay, but is this is all your act is than you will not be asked back.

The show is every Sunday (subject to special events) from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. You must check in by 6:45 pm or you risk losing your spot.

How much time you get is dependent on how many people have signed up and what your experience level is.  In general sets will be given out as follows:

3 to 5 minutes -Little or no previous stage time and/or experience
5 to 7 minutes - Proven track record of performing either through being seen at Bunjo's or a referral from another comedian.  Most people will be in this category.
7 to 10 minutes - Working comedians which we define as being paid to perform at major comedy clubs, casinos, cruises etc..., and/or TV appearances.
15 minutes - On occasion we may give one 15 minute set to a working comedian.  For the most part this will only be if they have an important gig they are
aaaaaaaaaaaaaapreparing for and not just to do more time. This will also be dependent on how many sign ups we have and our relationship with that comedian.

You will be given a "light" from the back of the room when you have one minute remaining in your set.  The time you are given is not guaranteed.  You may be given the
light early or late based on our discretion.  When you get the light try to acknowledge that you have seen it.  This can with a little nod, wave, wink etc...  Do not say things
like "Well it looks like I have to get out of here" or "I just got the light so I have to go" etc... This is very amateurish and can also bait the audience into applauding for you
to stay longer.  This puts us in a bad position and is not fair to the other comedians.

If the joke you end on falls flat your time is still up.  Do not try to do another quick joke that you think will make up for it.

When your time is up if you have not left the stage music will start playing and you are expected to leave the stage immediately.

TIP THE WAIT STAFF.  This is just common courtesy and just because you are in the show does not mean your are exempt from tipping.

Any comic that does not follow these rules will not be asked back to the open mic.
