Bunjo's Open Mic Rules
  • While this is not necessarily a clean room we do ask that you use common sense when it comes to content of your material.  NO EXCESSIVE OR
    UNNECESSARY swearing, cussing, dick jokes, f-bombs etc...  If this is all your act is you will be taken off our list.

  • DO NOT make any negative comments about the club, size of the audience etc...  Not only is it disrespectful to the club that is giving
    you stage time, it  is an insult to the audience and makes them feel like they are at a substandard show.

  • How much time you get is dependent on how many people have signed up and what your experience level is.  If you have little or no experience you
    will usually get 3 minutes, everyone else gets 5 to 7 minutes.  Occasionally we may give a 10 minute set to a working comedian with time permitting.

  • You will be given a "light" from the back of the room when you have one minute remaining in your set.  We may give you the light early if we feel it is
    appropriate.  When you get the light try to acknowledge that you have seen it.  This can be with a little nod, wave, wink etc...  Do not say things like
    "Well it looks like I have to get out of here".  This is very amateurish and can also bait the audience into wanting you to stay longer.  This puts us in
    a bad position and is not fair to the other comedians.

  • You will be given a 10 second grace period.  When your time is up if you have not left the stage music will start playing, even if you are in the middle
    of a joke.  You are expected to leave the stage immediately - NO EXCEPTIONS!

  • Cover charge is $5.  Performers DO NOT pay and are allowed ONE guest.  All others must pay.  Comedians who are not in the lineup that have
    performed in our regular shows are welcome to come out free of charge, however any guests must pay.

  • TIP THE WAIT STAFF.  This is just common courtesy and just because you are in the show does not mean your are exempt from tipping.

  • BE QUIET WHILE YOUR FELLOW COMEDIANS ARE ON STAGE.  Obviously this is just disrespectful.  If you absolutely must talk to someone
    please go outside, not just outside the entrance to the lounge or in the foyer.  Please go outside the restaurant completely.

  • DO NOT STAND NEAR THE ENTRANCE OR ITS IMMEDIATE AREA.  The wait staff is constantly coming in and out and when there are too many
    people standing around it gets frustrating.  The best bet is just to stay seated at the tables for the comedians.

  • ANY COMIC THAT DOES NOT FOLLOW THESE RULES WILL BE REMOVED FROM THIS LIST AND NO LONGER BE WELCOME.
Signup is done through an e-mail that is sent out once a week on Sunday or Monday for that week's open mic.  To get on the e-mail list review the open
mic rules below and fill out the information at the bottom.    This just gets you on the list, it does not sign you up for the current week's open mic.
